The Clear Computer Case and Other Cool Components

In fact, I’m pretty sure the original purpose of clear computer cases was for the educational market, but like so many other things in the technology sector the market has grown into much more than that in the past several years. There are two basic types of clear cases were available. First there are those with clear side panels inserted into an aluminum metal frame.  These usually have an aluminum frame that encompasses the top, bottom, back and corner rails. Some of them have a clear top too. These allow for some visibility of the inside components and permit a minimum amount of modification. Prices are a bit lower than they are for totally transparent cases.

The other more popular type is completely constructed from acrylic. This is the ultimate clear computer case, and the kind that gives the most flexibility for customization and modifications. You can get them pre-assembled or flat packed where you assemble them yourself. Prices are usually comparable, but you can often save shipping expense on the flat packed cases which require assembly.

Assembling flat packed clear computer case is very simple. They usually go together with thumb screws and clips along the edges. The way they are produced today, the edges and corners line up with very good precision on the acrylic ones. Check the corner style in the product description to see if the edges are rounded or not.
